Runoff elections will be held on Tuesday to determine who will represent Rio Rancho City Council Districts 4 and 6 for the next four years.
City election rules require runoff elections in contests between three or more candidates if no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in the regular municipal election.
The runoff for District 4 will be between incumbent Steve Shaw and Mark Scott, who were the top vote getters in the three-way race in the regular election on March 6.
The District 6 runoff will be between incumbent Kathy Colley and Lonnie Clayton, who were the top vote-getters in a four-way contest on March 6.
Only registered voters residing in District 4 and District 6 may vote in the runoff election.
On Tuesday, Election Day, voters will be able to cast their ballot at any of four polling locations that will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voting sites will be at:
♦ Rio Rancho City Hall, 3200 Civic Center Circle
♦ Meadowlark Senior Center, 4330 Meadowlark Lane
