6:55am — Calif. Murder Suspect Caught at El Paso Bridge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Man wanted in 1991 homicide was walking into U.S. from Mexico Monday night.

California murder suspect Rogelio Reyes Calvillo, a 35-year-old U.S. citizen from Tustin, Calif., was arrested Monday night by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Bridge of the Americas in El Paso, the El Paso Times reported.

Reyes was entering the United States from Juarez in the pedestrian lane when a fingerprint scan found he was wanted on a 1991 homicide warrant from Santa Ana, Calif., and for parole violation, the Times said.

He is being held at the El Paso County jail awaiting extradition to California, the paper reported.
