ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A 59-year-old Albuquerque man accused of bringing an underage girl from California to New Mexico for sex is going to prison.
Federal authorities say Edward Christy was sentenced Wednesday to nine years in prison on convictions of child sexual exploitation and child pornography.
He must register as a sex offender and be under a lifetime of supervised release after completing his sentence.
Christy was arrested in November 2009 at his home, where authorities say he was found with a 16-year-old girl and in possession of a computer that contained child pornography.
Authorities have said Christy met the girl on the Internet, then drove her from California to New Mexico. Authorities say Christy admitted to having sex with the girl.
