ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Shins are coming back to the Duke City.
The Portland, Ore.-based band got its start in Albuquerque in 1996 and will return for a show on Oct. 4 at the Kiva Auditorium.
Tickets for the show on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1 at www.holdmyticket.com. Tickets are $33, $38 and $43 including all service charges.
Probably the most popular band to have its roots in Albuquerque, The Shins grew out of a mid-90s project of lead singer James Mercer and have developed into one of the premier indie/power pop bands of the past decade.
The band’s current lineup consists of Mercer, Joe Plummer, Yuuki Matthews, Jessica Dobson and Richard Swift.
The group is touring in support of its fourth CD, “Port of Morrow,” which features more of its trademark “sweet vocals and barbed lyrics.”
This show is presented by Heath Concerts in conjunction with Joe Anderson Werks and AMP Concerts.
