LAS CRUCES (AP) — The U.S. Marshals Service says 39 fugitives wanted for domestic violence and other assaults have been arrested during a two-day operation in Dona Ana County.
New Mexico U.S. Marshal Conrad Candelaria says the operation that ended Thursday cleared 60 arrest warrants.
Deputy marshals were joined by officers from Sunland Park, Las Cruces and New Mexico State University police departments in the sweep. Other agencies participating in the roundup include state probation and parole, the county sheriff’s department and the U.S. Border Patrol.
During one arrest deputies recovered more than $3,000 in stolen diamonds and jewelry.
