N.M. Museums Offer Free Admission to Military
New Mexico’s 14 state-run museums and historic monuments will offer free admission to active duty military and their families between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
It’s part of the Blue Star Museums program, created by the National Endowment for the Arts to honor members of the military. Museums across the country have signed on to the program.
New Mexico’s participation includes the Museum of International Folk Art, Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, New Mexico Museum of Art and the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe; the Museum of Natural History & Science and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque; the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo; the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces; and six historic monuments.
