Taos Man Accused of Firing at Cars, Homes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Taos police on Sunday arrested a man witnesses said was shooting a .38 special at cars and homes in the Carson trailer park, The Taos News reported.

Ruben Camacho, 29, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, four counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer, possession of a firearm by a felon and tampering with evidence, the News said.

Lt. David Maggio said that when officers approached Camacho he initially said he had given his gun to a fellow gang member, but when police found a .38-caliber handgun in his back pocket, he took off running but was caught and arrested, the paper reported.
