UPDATE: Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident on northbound I-25 at San Antonio in the midst of Balloon Fiesta traffic.  The KOAT traffic helicopter showed the right lane of the highway was closed.

Traffic is starting to back up along the highway and Alameda as Fiesta-goers make their way to Balloon Fiesta Park, KOAT reported on its morning broadcast.

The traffic helicopter showed traffic on northbound Interstate 25 backing up to about San Mateo. Once hitting that traffic, it will take an estimated 45 minutes to get to the park.

Traffic on eastbound Alameda is backed up past 4th Street, and northbound Tramway is starting to slow as well, KOAT reported. Check www.abqfiesta.com for traffic updates about every 15 minutes during peak hours.
