APD looking for man who allegedly beat, burned ex-girlfriend's dog

BREAKING: Body Found Near Burned Car

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Bernardo Volunteer Fire Department was called out to extinguish a car fire near U.S. 60 and N.M. 304 south of Belen at 9 p.m. Monday, and while putting out the fire, crews discovered a body at the scene, State Police Lt. Robert McDonald said in a news advisory.

The Socorro County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and upon arrival called in New Mexico State Police to take over the investigation, McDonald said.

Investigators are still trying to identify the vehicle and the body, according to State Police.
