Chipotle Set to Open Another Duke City Restaurant

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque’s third Chipotle Mexican Grill is tentatively slated to open on Tuesday, Dec. 11, according to a spokesman for the Denver-based chain.
The new Chipotle is located on Paseo del Norte NE in a restaurant-dense area just east of San Pedro.
Chipotle — which lets diners customize burritos, bowls, tacos and salads — entered the Albuquerque market last December with a site at 6810 Menaul NE. A second location opened recently just west of the Coors/Alameda intersection at 3400 NM 528 NW.
Though the company doesn’t comment on the performance of specific restaurants or even markets, spokesman Chris Arnold said Chipotle has been well received in the Duke City.
“People in Albuquerque have given us a try, and they definitely seem to like it because they keep coming back,” he said via email.
Chipotle started in 1993 and now has more than 1,350 locations.
Though there have been reports that Chipotle may expand in Albuquerque beyond the three locations, Arnold said the company doesn’t discuss any specific location plans until it has leases and construction plans in place.
“At the moment, there is nothing that meets those criteria,” he said.
