ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police still investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved in Saturday crash.
Police are continuing to investigate the death of a Farmington man who was killed around 7 p.m. Saturday when his pickup truck plowed into the rear end of a semi-truck parked on the side of La Plata Highway, the Farmington Daily Times reported.
Charles Barney, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Daily Times said.
Farmington Police Lt. Vince Marshall said excessive speed was a factor in the crash, but police were still investigating whether alcohol or drugs were involved, the paper reported.
Coray Goodrich, the driver of the Quick Sand Inc. truck, had parked his vehicle near the Circle S store at 3101 La Plata Highway and was inside the store when the crash occurred, the Daily Times said.
