Action stars are showing their love for New Mexico.
The New Mexico Film Office announced its latest film, “Force of Execution.”
The film stars Steven Seagal, Danny Trejo and Ving Rhames. The story about a crime lord torn between his legacy and his desire to get out of the life of crime that has built his empire, when a new player to the scene tries to use the town anti-hero’s network to climb to power. The only friend the crime lord has is his assassin protégé who has troubles of his own. An epic battle of underbosses and crime lords. Only one will come out alive.
According to the film office, the production will employ at least 65 New Mexico crewmembers and 300 principal and background talent. New Mexico native Steven Michael Quezada is also signed on to the film. Quezada is also filming the final eight episodes of “Breaking Bad” and can be seen in the film “The Rambler,” which is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.
“Force of Execution” is directed and executive produced by Keoni Waxman. Seagal is also serving as a producer, as well as local producer Jim Burleson and Phillip B. Goldfine.
“It is great to be working at home with such an amazing group of talented people,” Burleson said.
Seagal rose to fame with action films such as “Under Siege,” “Hard to Kill” and “Above the Law.” He can currently be seen in the TV show “True Justice,” which airs on Albuquerque-based ReelzChannel.

Rhames has bee in films such as “Pulp Fiction” and the “Mission Impossible” series. Trejo has appeared in the TV show “Sons of Anarchy” and found success in films such as “Grindhouse” and “Predators.”
