U.S. Attorney to Take Over Child Porn Case Involving YAFL President

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The president-elect of the city’s youth football league and his wife have been arrested and booked on new federal charges of manufacturing and distributing child pornography after a months-long Sheriff’s Office investigation found that the two had been downloading and viewing child pornography videos on numerous occasions, a Sheriff’s spokesman said.

Frederick Gonzales, 42, and wife Carey Gonzales, 36, who was also a teaching assistant at Montezuma Elementary School at the time of her arrest, are now facing federal charges from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Both bonded out of jail on Jan. 12 and are awaiting trial.
