The state today announced it is launching a new mental health crisis line that will be available statewide beginning Friday.
The line will be available toll free at 1-855-NMCRISIS (1-855-662-7474).
“We should be providing every resource we can to New Mexicans who are in need of mental health services, especially during times of crisis,” said Gov. Susana Martinez in a prepared statement. “Offering a helping hand during someone’s darkest moments can go a long way toward assisting that individual and putting them on the road to recovery.”
The crisis line will be staffed by mental health professionals who can respond to a crisis 24 hours per day and 7 days per week, according to a news release from the governor’s office.
The State is working in collaboration with OptumHealth New Mexico and Protocall on the project. OptumHealth New Mexico is the statewide entity that currently contracts with the state in order to provide behavioral health services to New Mexicans.
