8:05 p.m. — The parents of the lost girl have been found and have reunited with Mariah, who was found earlier today but could not help deputies find her parents.
A 10-to-13-year-old girl was found in the South Valley around 11 a.m. today, and she is unable to help officers find her parents.
Mariah, a girl whose last name is unknown, could only point and nod her head when questioned by deputies Saturday. She appears to be developmentally disabled, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said, and was not able to help deputies help her find her parents.
Mariah is about 4’3″ tall and 85 pounds. She’s wearing a gray jacket, pink shirt, black pants and white/pink shoes.
While investigators try and find the girl’s parents, she is in the custody of the Children Youth and Families Department.
Anyone with information that could help reunite Mariah with her guardians is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (505)798-7000.
