Schools and offices in and around the Albuquerque metro area and throughout much of New Mexico are on a two-hour delay thanks to the latest winter storm now working its way through the state.
In addition to Albuquerque Public Schools, the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College on two-hour delays or 10 a.m. starts this morning, state District Court and Bernalillo County Metro Court will open at 10 a.m. today.
Most church and private schools in the metro area are also delayed, Sandia National Labs and the Albuquerque Social Security Administration offices will open at 10 a.m., and Belen and Los Lunas schools, Moriarty-Edgewood schools and Mountainair schools are on a two-hour delay, according to the latest closings/delay list from KOB-TV.
Rio Rancho public schools and Santa Fe schools are not reporting any delays so far.
5:45am UPDATE: Central New Mexico Community College also will open at 10 a.m. today, according to the latest (and continually updated) list of weather-related delays and closings from KOAT-TV.
5:20am UPDATE: The University of New Mexico is canceling all classes before 10 a.m. today, UNM spokeswoman Karen Wentworth told ABQjournal.com.
Breaking at 4:56am — APS on 2-hour delay
All Albuquerque Public Schools will be on a two-hour delay today, according to the APS website.
Parents should note that some buses may be delayed because of the temperature, APS officials said. Children should be dressed warmly and driven to their bus stop if possible.
So far, Rio Rancho schools are running on schedule.
Albuquerque Academy will be opening at 10 this morning, and Sandia National Laboratories will start at 9 a.m. today, according to KOAT-TV’s latest roundup of weather-related closings and delays.
