A 52-year-old Albuquerque woman was arrested for her fifth drunken driving offense Saturday, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metro Court.
A Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed Eleanor Apodaca stopped for an “unreasonable amount of time” at a stop sign on 5th and Aztec NW. When the deputy pulled Apodaca over, she smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and blood shot eyes, according to the complaint.
She failed an eye movement test and refused other field sobriety tests. Apodaca had four prior drunken driving convictions, according to the complaint.
She was booked into jail Saturday and released Sunday on bond, according to jail records.
