ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A free celebration marking the 43rd anniversary of the first Earth Day will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday outside the Esther Bone Memorial Library, 950 Pinetree Road, in Rio Rancho.
There will be activities for kids and information about how to lower your monthly water bill.
Otero’t Dairy Queen will give away free Dilly Bars to the first 150 people who attend.
Mariachi Nacional will perform at 11 a.m. on the outside stage.
Earth Day was established by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970 to be a worldwide nonpartisan day of environmental awareness.
