3:55 p.m. — Donald Pope, 52, left the roadway Thursday night near Coors and Gonzales, causing him to flip over and fly off his motorcycle.
It’s not known whether Pope was wearing a helmet or drunk at the time of the crash, but police said he was speeding.
Pope was sent to UNM Hospital, where he died from his injuries late Thursday night.
The motorcyclist involved in a crash at Coors and Central on Thursday night has died, according to Albuquerque police.
Northbound Coors between Gonzales and Central has been closed to allow for the investigation, APD said.
This road closure will be in effect for a few hours until the investigation can be completed.
While it appears it was a single-vehicle crash, there is an indication that a hit and run may have occurred and contributed to the crash, police said.
The name of the victim had not been released by police.
9:38 p.m. — A motorcyclist could be in critical condition after a crash at Central and Coors Boulevard shortly before 8:40 p.m.
