Two days before the annual Run for the Zoo event that benefits the BioPark zoo, aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach, organizers announced that Sunday’s fundraiser was sold out. The count: 12,000 people of all ages and running abilities signed up.

Organized by the New Mexico BioPark Society, the race included half marathon, 10K and 5K timed races, a 5K fitness run/walk and a one-mile fun run/walk through the back of the zoo.
