Police looking for a van that struck a 21-year-old in NE ABQ this morning.
Albuquerque police are looking for a van of unknown make and color driven by an unknown driver that witnesses say struck a 21-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing against a red light at Menaul and Chelwood Park NE around 7 this morning, APD spokesman John Walsh told ABQjournal.com.
Witnesses told police the van was northbound on Chelwood while the pedestrian crossed against the traffic signal while walking westbound on Menaul, Walsh said.
The young man was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital with serious injuries and was reported in stable condition, Walsh told us.
"We're still interviewing witnesses as we speak," Walsh said.
