Gov. Susana Martinez is attending fundraising events in Houston and Dallas today aimed at bolstering her 2014 gubernatorial re-election campaign.

The first-term Republican governor traveled to Texas last night, her political consultant Jay McCleskey said. She is scheduled to return to New Mexico tomorrow.

Martinez has also held recent campaign fundraisers in Arizona, Colorado, California and Nevada as part of a busy out-of-state travel schedule.

The governor was in Utah and Colorado earlier this week with the New Mexico Amigos, a group of civic leaders dedicated to promoting the state. However, she left the goodwill tour early to attend the campaign fundraisers.

Martinez’s travel costs to and from Texas are being covered by her re-election campaign, McCleskey said.
