The Albuquerque Police Department is holding a water drive until Thursday to benefit residents of Magdalena, a small town suffering from a severe water shortage due to the drought.

Officers are accepting bottled water and jugs at the Prisoner Transport Center on the northwest corner of Fourth Street and Roma NW downtown.

All of the water donated between now and Thursday night will be sent to Magdalena by Friday morning.
