NM statewide home sales improve in May over previous two years

The Realtors Association of New Mexico – which measures a combination of new and existing homes – said May sales number show improvement over the same month the past two years.

There were 1,622 home sales last month compared to 1,393 sales in May of 2012 and 1,201 sales reported in May 2011.

The reported median price in May was $172,000, a 1.2 percent increase in median reported in May 2012 of $170,000 and a 4.2 percent increase from May 2011 median of $165,000.

The year-to-date median price for a New Mexico home was reported at $167,000, RANM said.
