ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Reserve officer’s F-250 pickup stolen with gun, badge.
A retired police officer who was volunteering as a reserve officer with the Albuquerque Police Department had his Ford F-250 four-wheel drive pickup locked and secured when he parked it in front of his Northwest Albuquerque home Sunday night.
But when he came outside shortly before 5 a.m. Monday, the truck was gone — along with his badge (No. 861) and his personal semiautomatic handgun, a .45-caliber Kimber, according to Albuquerque Police Department spokesman John Walsh.
The F-250 pickup, especially the 4-by-4s, is "absolutely the most popular choice" for car thieves, Walsh said.
The truck’s license number is New Mexico 675-NAN, Walsh said.
Anyone with information should call the Albuquerque Police Department at (505) 768-2200.
