Isotopes to host Triple-A national championship game

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Isotopes will play host to the 2011 Triple-A Baseball National
Championship Game, pitting the winner of the Pacific Coast League
playoffs against the winner of the International League’s Governors’
Cup on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at
6:05 p.m.

The Triple-A final had been played for the last five seasons in Oklahoma City. At a news conference on Tuesday at Sandia Resort & Casino — an event sponsor — IL President Randy Mobley and PCL President Branch Rickey said the plan now is to rotate among cities in their two leagues in the coming years.

The contest, which will be nationally televised on Versus, is
the centerpiece of a day-long event that includes a free pre-game
autograph session with former Los Dodgers, giveaways from Sandia Resort, and a postgame fireworks show.

Tickets
for the Triple-A National Championship will go on sale simultaneously
with Isotopes regular season tickets on Saturday, March 12 at at the Isotopes Park Box Office, on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com,
and via phone by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.  Tickets will
also be the same price as ‘Topes regular season tickets.
