Thursday: In District 5-5A, league-leading Rio Grande looks to continue its winning ways against struggling Albuquerque High, and Highland visits Valley, both at 4 p.m.
Eldorado is at Atrisco Heritage Academy, West Mesa is at La Cueva, and Manzano travels to Rio Rancho in nondistrict action, also at 4 p.m.
Friday: Cleveland, coming off its huge win Tuesday over La Cueva, visits Sandia at 4 p.m. The Matadors’ beat a young but impressive Rio Rancho team earlier this week. For both teams, it is the final nondistrict game before league play begins in 1-5A and 2-5A next week.
Saturday: While No. 3 Cleveland beat No. 4 La Cueva on Tuesday, the two teams ranked ahead of the Storm and Bears meet at 10 a.m. Saturday. Second-ranked Eldorado is at No. 1 Volcano Vista at 10 a.m. (The new Class 5A poll will come out this afternoon.)
In 5-5A, Highland is at AHS, and Rio Grande goes to West Mesa, both at 2 p.m.
In 5-4A, Moriarty and Del Norte have a 3 p.m. doubleheader in Albuquerque.
Also, Cibola is at La Cueva at 2 p.m. in the Bears’ last nondistrict tuneup.
Tuesday: District 1-5A opens with Cibola at Volcano Vista, and Cleveland meeting Rio Rancho. Both are 4 p.m. starts.
