NO. 4, SARAZEN EAST
This is one of the most challenging short holes in the state. Although just 165 yards from the tips and 150 from the middle tees, this par 3 can turn into double bogey in a jiffy. The tee shot has to carry over water and often plays into the prevailing wind or cross wind. You have about 20 yards between the lake and the green edge, but overclubbing makes for a very difficult up-and-down, and can even bring the water back into play from the greenside bunker. The green has a severe slope from back to front and has massive break if you hit a shot pin high. You’ve got to try to hit your tee shot under the pin — but over the water.
