ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Lobo sophomore Demetrius Walker has a homecoming tonight. He played high school ball in Phoenix, where his mother still lives, and played one season for Arizona State. Does he have a lot of feelings going back?
“Yes, but feelings don’t matter,” he said. “Yes, I did play for Arizona State and I did transfer from there. But all we want to do is go down there and win. I’ll have a lot of friends, a lot of family members going to the game. It will be a big ordeal, but, like I said, our main focus is to get a win. After losing to N.M. State, we need to get a win there.”
ASU coach Herb Sendek said there are no hard feelings between he and Walker, or any of the ASU players.
“I’m very happy to see him doing well at New Mexico,” Sendek said. “Like we said at the time he left (the 2009-10 season), we most certainly wish Demetrius nothing but the very best.”
