Florida assistant Coleman Hutzler has been hired as an assistant by new Lobos football coach Bob Davie. A Florida media spokesman confirmed on Thursday that Hutzler was taking a position at UNM.
In Florida’s 2011 football media guide, Hutzler is listed as a football intern for special teams. Hutzler, a former Stanford assistant, was unavailable for comment (and likely wouldn’t have commented, anyway).
Davie has said he has hired two assistants. The first to be revealed was former Lobos player and player Jason Lenzmeier, who left New Mexico State to join Davie’s staff as offensive line coach.
Davie says he will not announce any hires until his staff is completely assembled; it was New Mexico State that announced Lenzmeier was heading north on I-25.
