Monday: Luis Cruz drove in four runs with a double and a wind-aided homer as the Isotopes defeated Nashville 8-3 in front of a matinee crowd of 10,126. Albuquerque won for the eighth time in 10 games and completed its second straight 6-3 home stand.
The Sounds led 3-1 after three innings, but the ’Topes cashed in on three walks in the fourth. Cruz’s RBI double to left made the score 4-3. His three-run homer to left made it 7-3 in the sixth.
Transactions: Albuquerque’s roster changed significantly Monday. IF Justin Sellers officially joined the team after being optioned from Los Angeles last week. IF Ivan DeJesus was activated off major league injury rehab and assigned to the Isotopes. IF Joe Becker was sent to Rookie League Ogden. IF Lance Zawadski and LHP Brent Leach were released.
Coming up: The ’Topes begin an eight-game road trip to Tacoma and Salt Lake City today. They return home May 17 against Sacramento.
