ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Brett McMurphy of espn.com is reporting, with no attribution, that Boise State, San Diego State and Brigham Young are in discussions with the Mountain West Conference about returning to/staying with the MWC in light of the latest developments in conference realignment.
If anything happens along these lines, I can’t see it happening soon. Boise State and San Diego State will wait to see what the Big East’s TV contract looks like when all is said and done. BYU has a contract with ESPN it would have to get out of.
I’m guessing none of this will happen, but I’ve seen a lot of things happen already that I never would have guessed.
Like Maryland in the Big Ten, for one.
