Lobos Up One Spot in AP Top 25, Stand Firm in Coaches Poll (view polls)

The New Mexico Lobos on Monday inched their way up the Associated Press Top 25 men’s basketball poll on Monday, swapping spots with Mountain West rival San Diego State after two more wins in the Pit last week helped the program to its sixth 10-0 start to a season in program history.

The Lobos are No. 17 in the AP poll, up from No. 18 last week. UNM stayed firm at No. 20, same as last week, in the USA Today coaches poll.

The Lobos received 512 points in the AP poll, 13 behind No. 16 Creighton (9-1). In the coaches poll, UNM had 207 points, six behind No. 19 Michigan State (8-2).

The Lobos are one of three Mountain West teams in both polls. San Diego State (7-1) is ranked No. 18 in the AP poll and No. 15 in the coaches poll. UNLV (7-1) is ranked No. 20 in the AP poll and No. 17 in the coaches poll.

Wyoming (10-0) received voted in both polls while Colorado State (6-2) and Boise State (6-2) each fell out of the polls after receiving votes last week.

The Lobos host Interstate 25 rival New Mexico State in the Pit at 4 p.m. Saturday (CLICK HERE for the Lobos schedule/results).
