Aggies Prove Too Much for Texas State

LAS CRUCES — Sophomore guard Daniel Mullings scored 22 points and the New Mexico State University men’s basketball team toppled Texas State 78-67 at the Pan American Center on Saturday night.

Freshman center Sim Bhullar posted the second 20-point game of his career on a 9-for-9 shooting performance for the Aggies (8-8, 2-2 WAC). Senior forward Bandja Sy recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

For the second straight game, NMSU used a quick start to the second half to take control of the game. The score was tied at 37 at halftime, but the Aggies hit the Bobcats (4-12, 0-4) with a 12-2 run and didn’t trail in the period.

Joel Wright led Texas State with 15 points.

Thursday

Men: NMSU at Seattle, 8 p.m.
Women: Seattle at NMSU, 6:30 p.m.
