Northeast-area apartment fire displaces two tenants

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Two apartment tenants were displaced as a result of an evening fire in Northeast Albuquerque.

Firefighters were dispatched to the call at 636 Morris NE, near Interstate 40, around 6 p.m., according to the Albuquerque Fire Department.

Crews found a 12-unit, two-story apartment complex with heavy flames and smoke showing from one of the apartments, AFD said.

“Crews quickly made entry and knocked down the fire. The fire damage was contained to only two of the units,” according to the news release.

No injuries were reported, but two tenants were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
