ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Authorities late Thursday morning raided Smoke World smoke shop in Rio Rancho, a business that may be dealing in the synthetic marijuana market, according to Rio Rancho police.
The Rio Rancho Police Department, working with agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, executed search warrants at the shop at 3301 Southern Blvd. and at a home in the city, police spokesman Nicholas Onken said in a news release.
The search warrants resulted from several weeks of “intense investigation by the agencies,” according the release.
Rio Rancho police several months ago became aware of the possibility that the business was dealing in the synthetic marijuana market, Onken said.
No arrests had been made, and the investigation is continuing, police said.
