ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Existing home sales in the Albuquerque metro showed solid gains in July compared to the previous month and the same month a year earlier, the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors said in a report Monday.
The median price also increased.
The 939 sales for July 2013 was the highest sales month since July 2007 and a 30 percent improvement over July of last year, GAAR said.
The median sale price for the month was $182,000, 4 percent increase over July of 2012 and a 5.8 percent increase over the previous month.
“The most sales occurred in the price range of $200,000 to $249,000,” said GAAR president Julie Greenwood, “which has typically been the top selling price range for the past three years.”
She also noted that “sales of properties from $250,000 up to $749,000 showed a 45% improvement over the past year which affects the median and average prices,” she said in a news release.
“These are great signs of improvement in the Albuquerque Metro housing market,” said Greenwood.
