Lobos’ league schedule unveiled with plenty of national TV exposure

........................................................................................................................................................................................

The New Mexico Lobo men’s basketball team will have 16 of its 30 games televised on the ESPN family of networks for the upcoming 2013-14 season with another seven on the CBS Sports Network, the Mountain West Conference announced Friday.

Of the remaining seven games, broadcast deals have not yet been finalized.

The Lobos also learned on Friday they will not play at Air Force and won’t host Fresno State in the Pit as part of the league’s unbalanced 18-game conference schedule.

Each league team will have two bye slots in the schedule, with the first for the Lobos coming on opening night of Mountain West play on Jan. 1. That means the Lobos will be off from their final non-conference game Dec. 23 until their first league game on Jan. 4.

NMSU Aggies Helmets
Ags’ new helmet features Pistol Pete

The New Mexico State University football team will meet at least half that description in 2013.
New helmets featuring Aggies mascot Pistol Pete and revolvers aplenty will give NMSU football a fresh, more menacing look this season. They replace recent helmets that simply had “NM State” printed on each side and were criticized by many as boring.
The new helmets are not dull.
