Rio Rancho’s Café Bella Coffee has taken over the double-sided drive-through previously run by Mocha Mudd at 9111 Eagle Ranch Road NW in Albuquerque.
The drive-through, which is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon, offers Café Bella’s espresso drinks and coffee beverages in addition to a natural smoothie selection and locally-made, all-natural signature bakery items.
The new location, which is at the busy intersection of Paseo del Norte and Eagle Ranch, also offers a bicycle-friendly drive-through.
Café Bella Coffee first opened its doors at its current location at 2115 Golf Course Road SE in January.
It was runner-up in the 2012 Albuquerque the Magazine’s Best of City Coffee category.
Café Bella Coffee features fair trade, organic, single origin, locally micro-roasted coffee in addition to menu items such as fresh paninis, breakfast sandwiches, baked goods and salads.
Special activities at the Rio Rancho location include live music on Friday evenings, Coffee & Cars on the first Saturday of each month, and a competitive poetry slam night the second Saturday of each month.
Operating partner Michael Gonzales, a classically trained chef and veteran food and beverage professional, acquired the Nuova Simonelli Aurelia espresso machine, the official espresso machine of the World Barista Championship, for both locations.
Gonzales was also barista- trained in Seattle by Italian World Cup tasting champion Sauro Dall’Aglio.
Free wi-fi and parking are available to customers at the Rio Rancho café, which is open daily, except Sundays, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
