Sorry, New Mexico.

Looks like the closest “Star Wars” will come to the Land of Enchantment is the Darth Vader hot-air balloon at Balloon Fiesta.

Disney and Lucasfilm — the two companies behind the film — who never comment on projects are remaining mum on the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII,” as per company policy.

The New Mexico Film Office is remaining quiet to stay in tune with its own policy.

According to a source close to the project, “New Mexico was never on the list for the film” and “(the project) is being filmed in London.”

So the project won’t be coming to the state. (Enter sighs here.)

For weeks, the Internet has been abuzz with rumors that have circulated around the world.

The only official news released from Lucasfilm, posted on www.starwars.com, is that production of “Star Wars: Episode VII” will take place in the United Kingdom.

All of the six previous live-action “Star Wars” movies have included U.K. production.

“We’ve devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of ‘Star Wars’ as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I’m thrilled that returning to the U.K. for production and utilizing the incredible talent there can be a part of that,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. “Speaking from my own longstanding connection to the U.K. with films like ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ ‘Empire of the Sun’ and recently ‘War Horse,’ it’s very exciting to be heading back.”

“Star Wars: Episode VII” is directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Michael Arndt. It is scheduled for a 2015 release.
