Ten Los Alamos Firefighters Disciplined After Porn Probe

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Ten Los Alamos firefighters have been disciplined for looking at pornography on computers at work, KRQE News 13 reported.

Pornography turned up on computer accounts during a follow-up investigation when Fire Captain Aaron Adair was charged with videotaping a female firefighter in a shower at the station, News 13 said.

Adair resigned and pleaded no contest to a charge of voyeurism last year, according to KRQE.

More than 30 firefighters were initially linked to the investigation into pornography allegedly downloaded on county-owned computers at Fire Station 3 in White Rock late last year, according to the Los Alamos Monitor.

The independent investigation that concluded on March 15 led to the disciplining of 10 people, including some people of rank, but the majority of the remaining firefighters were cleared of wrongdoing, the Monitor said.

Some of those disciplined retire or resigned rather than face punishment for their actions, according to the Monitor.

Los Alamos firefighter Brandon Gore was arrested last November in Albuquerque’s bosque after a woman claimed he flashed her, KRQE News 13 reported. Gore was charged with indecent exposure and resigned from the department.

“I will tell you that 2010 wasn’t a banner year for the Los Alamos Fire Department,” Fire Chief Doug Tucker told News 13.

But Tucker insisted that there is not a culture of sexual misconduct in his department, KRQE reported.
