A fight between former friends got worse Friday when a woman brought 10 people armed with bats, bricks and one with a machete to vandalize another woman’s car and home, according to court records.

Vicenta Duran asked a woman identified by the Albuquerque Police Department as Maria Flores, but identified by the Metropolitan Detention Center as Maria Mendoza, to leave a birthday party Friday, according to the complaint. When Flores left, according to the complaint, she said she would be back with more people to beat up Duran and other people at the party.

Half an hour later, a group of about 10 armed people arrived at Duran’s house on the 200 block of Pennsylvania NE and allegedly smashed the rear windshield of her car, broke the right mirror and severely dented the body of the car, according to the complaint. They then threw bricks through the living room window and damaged the front door with the machete, but ran away when they learned police had been called, according to the complaint.

Flores, 42, was arrested for criminal damage over $1,000 and conspiracy, and was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on a $5,000 cash/surety bond, along with a man allegedly involved, Feliciano Reyes-Lozano, 33.
