Geoff Grammer’s AP Top 25 men’s basketball ballot for Dec. 2

........................................................................................................................................................................................

OK, I did it. I pulled the trigger this week on moving Arizona up to No. 1.

It wasn’t so much about Michigan State falling as it was about Arizona, a complete team, having a better résumé to this point than just about anyone. The Wildcats have guard play, post play, great coaching, a true road win over a San Diego State team I have ranked No. 22 and, of course, last week’s win over Duke.

Michigan State is still just fine, but has yet to play a true road game and just hasn’t been a clear cut No. 1 in my eyes. Being out-rebounded multiple times already this season and Gary Harris’ ankle still concern me a little for the Spartans, although I suspect Harris will be just fine and return to All-American form (I selected him as a preseason AP All-American).

As always, let me know where I screwed up or where I might be right by contacting my on Twitter @GeoffGrammer or email me at ggrammer@abqjournal.com.
