LOS ALAMOS – A plane crashed Sunday morning in a canyon about a mile south of the Los Alamos Airport.
At least one person died as result of the single-engine Aviat Husky crashing in rugged terrain on Canyon Rim Trail, the Los Alamos Monitor reported.
It’s unknown whether other passengers were on the plane or whether the plane was taking off or landing when it crashed. The cause of the crash is unknown.
Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration were headed to the crash site.
