UNM football: Lobos sign three juco players

The University of New Mexico on Wednesday announced the signing of three junior-college football players, two defensive players and an offensive lineman.

This past season, UNM’s defense ranked near the bottom of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision statistics in virtually every category.

The Lobos lose two starting offensive linemen, Dillon Farrell and Darryl Johnson, and a third, Calvin McDowney who started on occasion.

Coach Bob Davie also announced that tight ends coach Derek Warehime has been promoted to running game coordinator.
