LONG BEACH, Calif. – University of New Mexico senior defender Kyle Venter received his fourth national individual accolade on Monday — a spot on TopDrawerSoccer’s Top XI Team. The award is the highest individual award given by the national soccer media outlet and acts as their “All-America” honor.
Venter was selected to TopDrawerSoccer’s National Best XI First Team as one of the top 11 players in the country.
Venter is the program’s first three-time All-American. He became UNM’s all-time leader in career minutes played at 7,859 minutes and was the Conference USA Most Valuable Player.
He became the first Lobo to be named to a Senior CLASS Award team, which is given to 10 collegiate soccer players a year who represent the complete student-athlete experience.
Meanwhile, New Mexico midfielder Christopher Wehan was selected to College Soccer News’ 2013 All-Freshman Third Team.
