Local chefs take cookie challenge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Girl Scout cookies are just the beginning – the Girl Scout Cookie Challenge takes well-known treats like peanut butter patties, shortbread cookies and thin mints to a whole new level.

The challenge pairs the creativity of as many as 21 local chefs with the classic cookies, and the result is a day of family fun, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown.

Admission is $7 for adults and children and includes one tasting ticket, if purchased in advance online. The door price is $10. Additional tasting tickets are $2 each. Children under 5 are free.

The event includes a taste test challenge, cookie eating competition, cookie box jenga, face painting and more.
