•MARK SMITH, I wanted to express my appreciation for (Tuesday’s) article on our local golfers. They demonstrate that divergent paths can lead to personal goals. Thanks again.

• GREAT ARTICLE on the journeys of Steve and Zach. I coached at a competitive HS and those players are great people with large hearts and great talent. Coach Perea, Coach Millican, Coach Black and Coach Lieberwirth harnessed that talent and we are witnessing the results. I’m rooting hard for their personal and professional success. Carpe diem gentlemen!

• JOHN R of Los Lunas says he’s taking his toys and going home because Randy, Journal Sports Editor, doesn’t print every one of John R’s submissions. Randy prevented Sport Speak Up from becoming the voice of a racist, lynch mob during the Locksley era in football. Mike Locksley was a Peter Principle hire, beyond his capabilities and too arrogant to resign. In Sports Speak UP, Randy seemed to guide the well-founded criticism away from race baiting. God help me, I’m defending someone from Georgia.

• JOHN R. from Los Lunas thinks Sports Speak Up! won’t print his comments because he isn’t negative against the Lobos. John R., the Journal is the same way in the editorial page. They won’t print anything supporting teachers. Unless you engage in their favorite sport, Teacher Bashing, they are not interested.
