Albuquerque city councilors approved their piece of an incentive package aimed at keeping Eclipse Aerospace at the Sunport.
The council approved roughly $238,000 on Wednesday through its economic-development action fund. The state is contributing another $397,000.
The council legislation was sponsored by Dan Lewis and Rey Garduño.
“We are partnering with a growing aerospace manufacturer that is a contributor to the local economy and we are committed to promoting that relationship,” Lewis said in a new release. “At the same time, Eclipse is committed to utilizing their resources, along with State and Local assistance, to help create new high-paying aerospace jobs.”
Eclipse plans to add 100 jobs by the end of 2015. For every 10 jobs added, the company would get help on one month’s rent, and there are clawbacks if the goal isn’t met.
There was no opposition to the proposal on Wednesday night.
