Las Vegas, N.M. muni judge re-elected; one council seat needs a runoff

SANTA FE, N.M. — The Las Vegas Optic reports that incumbent Eddie Trujillo defeated his two challengers to win another term as the city of Las Vegas municipal judge in Tuesday’s elections.

In the Ward 4 City Council race, Councilman David Romero was re-elected to a second term, beating challenger Michael Espinoza by 22 votes, according to the Optic.

The council Ward 1 race will be decided by a runoff election, as none three candidates garnered more than 50 percent of the vote. Councilwoman Tonita Gurule-Giron and Oliver L’Esperance were the top vote-getters.
